The Kabbalistic tradition considers Archangel Metatron the supreme of all the Angels. However, the Judeo-Christian scripture does not mention Metatron by his Angelic name. Instead, he is believed to be the prophet Enoch, specifically chosen by God to become an Archangel. Then in Egypt, he was called Thoth.
He was transformed into a flame spirit with 36 wings and innumerable eyes.
The origin of Metatron's name remains unknown, but the Latin word "metator" means to bring measure or balance.
Metatron is the spiritual brother of Archangel Sandalphon. Both were humans on Earth before ascending to heaven as angels (Metatron lived as the prophet Enoch and Sandalphon as the prophet Elijah). As a result, people sometimes ask for Metatron's help to discover their spiritual power and learn how to use it to bring glory to God and make the world a better place.
He is the Archangel that presides over the World of Form and can help us find balance for all we do in life. Metatron also helps us realize our true potential.
