What is a Spirit Animal, and why is it so important for your life?
In some Indigenous traditions, spirit animals are an embodied form of a spiritual guide. There is only a Spirit Animal for each human being.
Your Spirit Animal holds a unique quality that can help you navigate life with more ease, faith, and confidence. Furthermore, it can help you grow spiritually and make wise moves and decisions in your life.
In today’s frantic world, we tend to get rid of what is considered ‘out of rationality.’ Many aspects of the spiritual world are considered a waste of time. A Spirit Animal can be seen merely as an act of spiritual fun (for example, lots of quizzes about ‘discovering your Spirit Animal’ on the internet).
But this is not the case when looking for your True Spirit Animal. It goes much deeper than that.
Whether we like it or not, human beings are animals and not very different from them in many ways. Therefore, your spirit animal is a living part of you because all animals are related.
Just like a child will have the same traits as their mom and dad (red hair, brown eyes, particular characteristics, etc.), we are related to all living things. However, in our evolution path, we have diverted from being very instinctive creatures to rational beings. We use our minds rather than our imagination and instinct to make decisions.
Finding your true spirit animal and truly integrating its energy into your existence is a sign of spiritual awakening.
When you find your true spirit animal, you begin to understand there are worlds beyond the material one we live in. Your six senses become sharper because you use instincts rather than your mind. As a result, new opportunities open up before your eyes, and a whole world of unexpected changes is ready to welcome you. But, of course, we must not stop thinking at a rational level. Instead, we must use both the mind and the instinct to create an unbeatable ‘spiritual team’ that can make us become the best version of ourselves.
By finding your spirit animal, you can act as your own Shaman and rekindle your power.

So, how do you find yours? How do you know which is Your spirit animal?
There are many ways to find out which spirit animal is yours, but we think the best way to find your Spirit Animal is to start a meditation.
Imagine yourself in nature, surrounded by silence and beauty. Then, while meditating, imagine the presence of an animal and how you feel about that specific animal and its presence. Also, think about how the animal traits relate to you or what it represents (joy, fear, surprise, happiness, etc.)
Ask yourself: are there connections between your spirit animal and situations or events in your life?
Is there a connection between how you feel about your spirit animal and other areas of your life? Observe if new emotions or associations emerge, as they may have been out of your awareness until now.
The spirit animal could represent your feelings and a person or a situation from your past or present life.
Then ask yourself another question: What qualities do I personally associate with my spirit animal?
Look at the characteristics or traits of your spirit animal. Use them as a good starting point for creating meanings and developing a stronger connection with your animal spirit guide.
Never forget what we said at the beginning of this article: we are all intertwined, and when you need help or guidance, all animals hear your call for help, but only the appropriate animal will show up.
The characteristics of that specific animal will help you clarify an uncertainty that has not already been addressed and find your path in life.
